DAUSA is unique in that its membership is overwhelming Darfuri. While any person is welcome to apply for a chapter, it is recommended that the group largely include people who have lived in the region of Darfur.

If you wish to pursue the creation of a new chapter in your area, please consult Professor Mahmoud Braima at 225-324-3224. He is the Darfur Association president.

If you do not know Darfuri-Americans and are looking to start a student group, there are plenty of opportunities through STAND. Non-students may be interests in organizing directly through the Save Darfur Coalition.
